student query regarding length of blog comments

Hi folk,

One of you emailed today, with a query regarding the length of blog comments, specifically, how precise is the suggested word length. Ie is it exactly 100 words (or 200 words), or is it a minimum?

My response was - a minimum. Please don't waste even a minute trying to edit them.

Please note that this is only in regard to blog comments, I expect a 10% plus or minus guideline for the other assessments,

OK ... got that bit ... but as a novice to all this, let me clarify what I need to do: if I want to comment on say Anne's 1000 words, I comment on her blogsite, not mine.

Also 10 responses on five different blogs means that I comment twice on any five blogs.

Also the 'cite resources' would be for you & not for student.

Does all that make sense?

Blessings,

Ken

Hi Ken, Nice to hear from you. I trust you are well.

I will reply to your comment both my email and on the internet where you posted it ...

Question 1. If I want to comment on say Anne's 1000 words, I comment on her blogsite, not mine? Yes, you comment on Anne's words.

Question 2. 10 responses on five different blogs means that in total, you have to make 10 comments and they have to be on a minumum of five different blogs. So you could comment twice on any five blogs, or you could comment two times on 2 blogs and once each on six blogs. Or you could find yourself involved in a really good discussion to and fro on one blog and end up commenting six times on that blog and once on another four blogs. A number of ways to skin the proverbial, as you long as at the end you have completed 10 responses that span five blogs.

Question 3. The 'cite resources' means that I expect in your comments to each other to see evidence of course reading and resources cited. Eg "Anne, what you say about engaging the Scripture in community links with the reading by Rose, in particular page (xx). It also helps me make sense of the class exercise, Dwelling in the Word which we did on Day two, in which by ............)

Hi Ken,

It must have been exciting to have a comment. And then stink to lose your reply. I don't know why you can't find it.

Two possibilities are that you
a) either have not logged in as "Choose an identity" or
b) you have not filled in the necessary numbers/words in order to prove you are a real person ie spam filter

I did encourage folk to keep a Word document copy of everything, so if you had done that, you could retry. Good on you for having a go, it's amazing to think that a class can continue to "talk" even though the face to face experience is over.

And regarding number of issues per comment - more than one issue is OK. But so also is making a number of repeated comments, each with a separate issue.

OK ... thanks for that ... in 'choose an identity' the 'Google account' is always chosen ... not sure about the no of words bit ... but I'll redo something for Alan & see if it works ...
