a 2007 welcome

Welcome to the Fuller class of 2007. This blog is a a home page for the living the text in a postmodern context course, taught at Fuller Theological Seminary by Dr Steve Taylor. I first taught this class as an intensive at Fuller in 2006. It was a great experience and I expect no less a second time around. I am looking forward to meeting you all face to face, and to having an intensive week with you.

On the left hand side I will be adding the blogs of all the students in this course, placing the 2007 blogs above the 2006 blogs.

Part of the assessment of this course is based on a first round of students recording their readings on-line, and then a second stage in which students comment and interact with each other blogs. This worked exceedingly well in 2006 for the purposes of subject review and recall.

Using on-line blogs is also designed to enhance the student learning experience, by allowing them to interact with each other outside the classroom. It means that critical student reading is no longer a conversation between lecturer and student, but becomes a class conversation. Using blogs has the further benefit of introducing students to new technologies and enhancing their communication options, an essential ministry skill.
